Guests can choose to arrive by air, sea or overland.
Galicia is served by 3 Airports:
Santiago de Compostela (center), A Coruna (north) and Vigo (south).
Ryanair Clickair Spanair Aireuropa Vueling & Iberia fly regularly from major European cities to Galicia

Air Travel

The closest airport is Santiago De Compostela (SCQ)- a 45 minute drive. Ryanair and Clickair offer flights from the UK, Germany, Italy and major Spanish cities.

A Coruna (LCG) airport is a 1hr 15 minute drive. Clickair offer flights from Spanish cities, UK and Russia.

Vigo (VGO) airport is a 1hr 30 minute drive.  Clickair offer flights from France, Italy, UK, Belgium and major Spanish cities.

Car Hire

The major car hire companies are to be found in the airport arrival lounges or make your reservation on-line: See Avis or Europcar.

Driving Directions

From the airport follow signs for Santiago, join the Ap 9 - direction Pontevedra. At junction 75 take the Noia Ag 56 turnoff, this new road turns into the Ac 543 - head for Noia (Norte); then follow signs for Muros on the Ac550, pass through Serra da Outes and Crucero de Roo. Catasueiro is the next hamlet, take a left turn at La Brona sign (a brown sign), take 3rd right, 2nd right and 1st right.

Train Travel

Train Services are available from Madrid, A Coruna, Vigo and Pontevedra.

 
Santiago de Compostela train station is situated in the centre of the city for services/timetables visit RENFE  Book 'sleepertrains' early if travelling in summer or on many of the public Spanish holidays and weekends. European connections are available through France and Portugal.  Train station transfers are available if organised in advance, see extra services under pricing.


Luxury Coach Travel

Coach Services throughout Galicia are offered  by Monbus  They run a frequent, luxury service  from Santiago de Compostela virtually to the doorstep.  Use Monbus to get around and see all the attractions in A Coruna whilst here on holiday.


Sea Port Travel

From The Uk

Brittany Ferries offer regular sailings from Plymouth and Portsmouth to Santander in Cantabria (Bay of Biscay) on the northern coast of Spain.

P&O Ferries offer regular sailings from Portsmouth to Bilbao in the Basque Country (bordering France) on the northern coast of Spain.

A direct ferry from the UK to Vigo in Galicia is being studied at present - watch this space!

A car journey will take approximately 5 to 7 hours depending on the route and type of roads taken to reach Puerto De Compostela in Catasueiro.  For a road map of Spain use Aseta to plan your route.


El Camino De Santiago - Walk of St James

Walking Directions

The world famous El Camino de Santiago - The Walk of St James follows a route to/from Finisterre - the original World's End! 

For pilgrim's looking for a slight diversion  from the original inland route through the A Coruna countryside to the beautiful coastline of the Ria Muros y Noia head south at Mazaricos or Pino do Val to Serra da Outes.  Follow the coastal road for 5km until you come to Catasueiro

Spend some time at Puerto De Compostela and head off along the coast in the direction of  Muros and Cee and join the traditional route again.
